A wood fence has a warmth vinyl can't match. We install cedar and pressure-treated fences across Middletown and Orange County, from tall privacy fences to picket fences and split-rail along a country property line.
Wood fence styles
- Stockade and board-on-board privacy — solid, tall fencing for backyards
- Shadowbox — alternating boards that look good from both sides
- Picket — traditional front-yard fencing
- Split-rail — open, rustic fencing for larger lots and farm properties
Cedar or pressure-treated?
Cedar naturally resists rot and insects, weathers to a silver-gray if left untreated and stays straighter over time. Pressure-treated pine costs less and is very durable in the ground, which is why it's often used for posts even when the panels are cedar.
Making a wood fence last
- Posts set deep and correctly for our frost conditions
- Boards kept off the ground so they don't wick up moisture
- A stain or sealer within the first year, then every few years after
Wood fence FAQ
How long does a wood fence last?
With good installation and regular sealing, a wood fence can last many years. Cedar generally lasts longer than untreated pine panels.
Should I stain it right away?
Pressure-treated wood usually needs time to dry before staining. We'll tell you when your fence is ready.
